Get a worm w/ a squiggly tail, put a torpedo weight on you line then a (worm) hook, thread the worm about an inch onto the hook and come out the sidslide the worm around and up the hook to where it ties on, then kinda push a littl higher to hook tip into worm down the body so when inbedded and slide back down the worm looks straight. you will see the hook s bend is in the bare air. Just throw it out and slowly reel it in, sometimes if you want you can raise the rod tip and lower it and reel somemore. This is a weedless set up so you won't get hung so much, like a lure can.

I have been using a chatterfrog its easy to use just like a crank bait you just cast and retrieve. I also have had luck with Rapala's Jointed Shad in Perch color.
Worms it depends on how you hook it up i use three different styles. 1) I just hook the worm up to a bass hook through the tip then back into the body to make it weedless. Then i cast and have a slow retrieval. Occasionally letting it drop down to the bottom. 2) I hook up some beads and washers in front of the worm so it makes noise which attracts fish. That i just cast and slowly retrieve. 3) You can also use a worm like a jig. |

Go to a local tackle store and look for Rat L Traps a deep diving crankbait and a spinnerbait or a buzz bait. I prefer a crome and blue Rat L Trap and a shad colored crankbait.
There is an excellent site with tips on what to fish with in murky water as well as how to fish with a plastic worm Check out: http://www.bassresource.com/search/search.php. http://bassresource.com/fishing/features.html#lures Most of all have fun! |

You should really learn the worm method as this is a really effective way to catch bass. It's fairly easy and once you get the hang of it you will develop your own methods of fishing it according to whats working for you, but here's a basic method to get you started.......................................................
I always have the most luck with plastic worms. Try going to the pond at dusk and throw a 4" purple worm with a red tail, the swirl type tail, throw it out, let it settle to the bottom and sit for a few seconds, then just give the rod a little twitch, just enough so that you can feel your worm jump off the bottom, then let it settle again, and keep repeating this "twitch" method and I guarantee you will soon be catching Bass. It's really important to let the worm settle and sit for a few seconds before you "twitch" it off of the bottom again as this is when the bass will usually hit it, so be patient, and good luck. |

Rooster Tails. They are the best bass lures on the market today in my opinion. You can catch anything from bluegill to northern pike on them. They are easy to use, and inexpensive at the store. Just tie one on and go fishing. If it is sunny out choose a light colored one, and if it is cloudy choose a darker one. Have fun!
